Garden Art
Kylee has been creating metal and wire art for many years. Despite failing art at school, it’s clear she simply hadn’t found the medium that suited her creativity. Today, her unique sculptures are a testament to her imagination, determination, and artistic talent.
Some of Kylee’s pieces are completely freehand creations, handcrafted from recycled scrap metal and found materials. Others begin as an idea or sketch and are brought to life through a process of imagination, design, and plenty of trial and error, using a plasma cutter and welder.
While this style of sculpture takes considerably longer to produce, it allows Kylee to refine her designs and recreate selected pieces for sale once she is happy with the final result.
In 2023, Mick & Kylee entered their sculpture Armadilla Waratah in the Outback Sculpture Competition in Roma, where they were awarded the Emerging Artist Award. The piece was later purchased by a local Roma business, marking a significant milestone in her artistic journey.
Kylee has a particular passion for creating trees and flowers from metal, many of which can be found throughout the grounds at Gidgee’s Bush Camp & Farm Stay, adding colour, character, and creativity to the outback landscape for visitors to enjoy.
